This morning I woke up not feeling my best. It doesn't happen often these days, but when it does, wow...
As I got dressed, I pulled on a pair of my favorite sweats, and I was struck by a profound innovation. Dumfounded by the simplicity and effectiveness of a very simple thing. What was it?
Think about it...
Drawstrings are comfortable. They respect the fact that you change from day to day. They let you feel comfortable and snug no matter what. No pressure to squeeze or shimmy.
This got me thinking...
Too often, we’re shrinking and pushing ourselves into the box of perfection. And while that may be a pretty package, it doesn’t give us the chance to expand into a much more fully expressed version of ourselves.
Important pieces of us get tucked away, ignored, or left out all together, and we wind up living only a small portion of our potential. Often feeling trapped, unable to take a deep breath and just be.
If you want to get comfortable in your own skin, give yourself drawstrings.
