I'm starting a new trend. We're getting back in sync with the cycles of nature.
I just released a full moon ritual sound healing on YouTube. It's designed to be used month after month as an anchor and clearing for your ritual.
And every full moon, I'll be sending out a theme. Thoughts and reflections that will act as a lens for your ritual. You'll be able to use that along with your full moon ritual guide as well, which has key steps, journal prompts, tips and best practices. All in a nice, neat, downloadable PDF.
As we kick off this series, it seems important to start by looking at the ritual itself, and why we have them in the first place.
Enjoy!

The Power of Ritual
I'm not talking about weird superstitions. Maybe you have some of those. I'm not judging.
What I mean are the rituals we build into our lives, knowingly or unknowingly. Maybe you have a coffee ritual. Or a skin care ritual. A bedtime ritual.
Rituals are anchoring and grounding. The familiar nature sets our mind at ease. Allows us to be more present to the little things. Or set our mind on auto-pilot to self-organize.
One of the things being systematically removed from our lives is a deep connection to nature.
We're aware of the weather, and the seasons, but other that what outfits we choose, what really changes?
Everyone knows there's a moon, but very few will be able to answer what phase it's in.
Yet there it is. All the time. Powerful enough to push and pull the oceans, determine the best planting seasons, make people go a little...loony (no that term isn't accidental).
Powerful.
Building simple rituals around these things — something as simple as a full moon ritual — helps to mark the passing of time. And it gives us the anchoring to choose how we're going to show up in our lives. For the people we love. For ourselves too.
I don't know about you, but sometimes I lose all track. I blink my eyes and it's already the last day of April. How many months has it been? How many moons?
And we lose a little something in that blur.
Presence.
Because sometimes when we snap back into awareness, we realize just how far we've come.
Other times we realize just how far off track we've drifted.
A full moon ritual is the perfect amount of time for a check in.
The Caveat
Rituals can become mechanical. They are, by nature, repetitive. Personally, I love rituals for the self-soothing nature, especially when my anxiety is running high. But I also like variety. Kisma would say that I have a deviant decision driver. She's not wrong.
Without intention, rituals can easily become the thing that we do because that's what we do. Church felt a lot like that to me. I loved the spiritual aspect, but the rote rituals felt cold. Which is probably why I gravitated to Vedanta philosophy. Constantly questioning and exploring.
The point is that when it comes to rituals, there are two things to keep in mind...
1) Remember why we're doing it in the first place. What is the meaning, purpose, and symbolism behind it?
2) Bring our whole selves to it. Our total presence. Resist the urge to go on auto-pilot.
Try it with your coffee tomorrow. Smell the grounds. Consider the beautiful life affirming energy of caffeine 😳. Take your time to enjoy the first sip. The actual taste of that beautiful cup of goodness and warmth.
That's the difference between a ritual and auto mode.
You're worth that kind of presence.
The May 2026 Full Moon: Wesak
This moon is marked in the Buddhist tradition as a spiritual highpoint of the year. I didn't make that "most powerful" thing up.
So ask yourself, what are you actually doing with this energy?
Is there something you want to manifest or accomplish? A fresh start? A new perspective on life?
Whatever it is, now is your moment to anchor it in for the year to come.
Here's how to make the most of it:
Get your Full Moon Ritual Guide here. Grab a few of the journal prompts that resonate with you, and let your mind wander with them.
Tomorrow at 6pm Pacific the Full Moon Ritual Sound Healing is premiering on YouTube. I'd love for you to join me live, but if you miss it, it will be there for you every full moon after this one.
