The Mystic's Message

Real Change Starts with with THIS

If you want real change in your life, something needs to shift inside of you...

...but it might not be what you think.

Even though your emotions might be the loudest, scariest, most uncomfortable aspect of a situation, real change is about something deeper.

Real change happens when you change your decisions.

Your emotions are your choice.

Your thoughts are your choice.

Your actions are a result of your emotions and thoughts, which make them, you guessed it, your choice.

How to Begin

When you start something new, it's the energy that sets it in motion. The quality of that energy is what matters. It sets to tone, and when things go off kilter, which things are wont to do, that energy is where we return to remind ourselves why we started in the first place.

Some people call this intention.

It could be a new project or invention. A relationship. A difficult conversation. A business. Even a simple facebook post.

No matter what it is, it's always best to begin with Love.

On Self Healing...

Your body wants to heal itself. That's what it was designed to do.

Within moments of falling down and scraping your knee, your body initiates a protocol to slow the bleeding and reinforce the injured area.

Amazing, isn't it?

Healing- real healing- is mostly about learning how to get out of the way so that your incredible human machine can do exactly what it was meant to do.

The real 'work' lies in unwinding the beliefs we have about what is possible, and releasing the stories we have abo…

Broken world, or...?

Many times we look at the world, see all the things that are going wrong and think, "The world must be broken. This is now how it was meant to be."

But what if...

...the world isn't broken at all.

What if the brokenness we're seeing is only a reflection of the brokenness we see in ourselves; Our own confusion, frustration, disconnection and feelings of futility; A series of misunderstandings waiting for a ray of light to illuminate the illusion.

What if the world (i.e. nature) is responding…

If that makes sense...

"...If that makes sense," is a tagline I hear frequently. And having read that, I bet you'll start noticing it more too.

I hear this little phrase most often when someone is trying to explain something deeply felt; A complicated mixture of thoughts and emotions that they're trying to get a handle on for themselves.

Things that make sense are safe; We can trust them, and I think we look for that in one another. A safe place where we're seen, heard, and understood.

We say, "If that makes sens…

Truth Telling

Simply telling yourself the truth is one of the most profoundly transformative things you could ever do.

We humans do all sorts of mental gymnastics to get out of it, and quite frankly...

...It's exhausting!

We blame other people, rather than taking responsibility.

We bend the truth to support our established beliefs without ever questioning what we already hold to be true.

We ignore the truth when it calls us to make an uncomfortable choice.

"Men are not prisoners of fate, but only pri…

Scrolling Netflix

If you’ve been scrolling through Netflix for more than 10 minutes trying to figure out what to watch, maybe you don’t want to watch anything at all.

The same way that we stand in front of the open fridge when we're not even hungry.

Quiet time and empty space where we're not 'doing' anything can feel really uncomfortable.

Yet...

Those spaces are where our minds do the most miraculous things.

The 'eureka' moment.

The brilliant insight where it all comes together.

The elusive solution to…

'Crazy Busy'

Crazy Busy has become our modern day mantra.

People wear their ‘busy’ like a badge of honor.

It’s a mask we hide behind. And when people see it, they nod knowingly, because they’re doing the same thing.

What ‘Crazy Busy’ really means  is…

I don’t know how to say no.

I’ve lost sight of my priorities.

I’m afraid to slow down.

But what if...

...slowing down is how we speed up?

What if being present is how we get the rich experiences we treasure in life?

Slow is the new Fast, my fri…
